After having written several posts about flowers , you may have thought I became a Florist ...But I don't
I'm still an antiques dealer and my dad is still an upholsterer.
Everyday we have the chance to cross treasures, gems , beauties and news
This time our road crossed the road of a beautiful embroidered silk from the XIX century . It was a special order for one of the richest french family at this time : R....Family ( they are still famous and rich )
My client had the chance to buy 2 entire set of silk , it is to made a pair of armchairs and a pair of chairs.
This silk is XIX th century but it looks brand new , indeed it has been very well kept
The embroidery is so delicate and gorgeous
My clients want to put this fabric on a pair of Louis XIII armchairs , which I've sold to him
I will try to show you the process of my dad's fabulous work
Would you dare seat on this silk ?
It is so exquisite that I would be afraid of ruining it. This is just stunning. I cannot wait to see the work of your dear Dad.

No! Silk is so fragile...light alone degrades it. I would frame it! Gorgeous.

That is gorgeous! No, I wouldn't sit on it but I would admire it on the back of a chair. Or framed on a wall as Trouvais suggested. As long as it is not hidden away in an old chest in the attic. We should enjoy beautiful things. I want to see what your dad does with it!
