I love how years leave a touch of something on wood , paintings, houses ....
I love patina ...
old provencal tiles
old terracotta with a beautiful patina
Virgin ... she has seen so many things , she has heard so many stories
bottle of wine with patine waiting for a party
french signs with vintage touch
these french signs are in my boutique ...
Beautiful images, Melanie. I love the theme of time-worn patina. And your view in the previous post has me green with envy! I need to move to your part of France!

In America, nothing is old enough to have a real patina -- perhaps this is why we are so fascinated by your beautiful French antiques! We pay decorative painters to create faux patina for us, creating the illusion of history, but this pales in comparison to the real thing. I love what you said about the Virgin Mary statue -- I never thought of that before, but you are right, she has heard so many prayers. Merci!
