I know this artwork.. Some years back the Melbourne Art Gallery had a rare display of major Immpresionists works.
I was really attracted to only a few works, It turns out that the works I was attracted to were works done whilst each artist was ill. I did not know this at the time. eg Manets "Melon" or Moonlit Sea as examples.
When I returned home, I was leaning a new song, Gounods Le Soir. The poem is beautiful about healing..and whilst I was sitting at the piano I had the urge to research the paintings- thats how I found out about them
Might sound stange- but its a moment or a link I will never forget. Such is the power of this art, and the music! :-)
