More about me :
I collect painting from Algiers , more precisely from " villa abd el tif painters "
I own some of wonderful algerian paintings that " remind me " a country which I don't know but where I have roots.
This morning , my collection got bigger by buying a new wonderful painting ...which I am in love with
Emile Gaudissard 's painting (1872 -1956) My collection
I'm so in love with this painting . It seems I've always known her ..I had the same feeling than Maryam ..
Her name is written on the back of the painting : Zohra Fatma
So Zohra made me think about Maryam and her muse
The love she has for her , the way she cherrishes her ...
Then I wanted to write few words for her to congratukate her , she is in the 10 best middle east or africa blogs list ans SHE IS the 2 nd ...
GOOD JOB
But anyway for us I think she is the best and she is the winner , what do you think ?
Picture from a set of pictures taking for making postcards. They are in glassplate
I couldn't help sending this picture for her ...Thank you for sharing Morocco and your wonderful life with us ..
I love Maryams blog :-)
Great painting :-)

Such a beautiful painting! Congratulations. :-)
I like the black and white photography too. My father in law used to take photos with glass plate negatives. He had to carry each and every plate up the mountains in a backpack.

Hurrah for Maryam, both for her achievement in the polls, but also more generally for the fabulousness of her blog which was such an inspiration to me as moved to Marrakech. I also have two beautiful rugs here in my Paris apartment which I would never have been bought if it hadn't been for her wonderful taste and advice.
Great painting and photograph, too!

I love your painting - it is so interesting ... intriguing. It must be fun to collect a certain kind of painting and to be constantly looking out for them.

The painting is magnificent, Melanie! What a wonderful find! I, too collect photographs similar to that one and Maryam's muse - Lehnert & Landrock and other photographers who were in Cairo and Tunis and other parts of the Middle East in the late 19th-early 20th-century. Yes, congrats to Maryam, who has a lovely blog and more importantly, is wonderful in real life.

Hello Melanie,
I liked reading your post from July about your roots in Algeria.
What a coincidence that I just posted about my roots in Latvia.
Let's celebrate our ancestors, they are so important in our lives.
